What genre of media does it belong to?

Make a post that provides a summary of Pruchniewska reading. You should explain all concepts in your own words, but if you rely on phrases from Prunchniewska herself, enclose them in quotation marks and include a page number in parenthesis.
Questions to answer:
What is the object that she’s analyzing?
What genre of media does it belong to? What are its characteristics?
What is her overall thesis about this object?
What are themes in her literature review? (In other words, what scholarly theories and ideas is she using?)
What is postfeminism? What are its elements?
I don’t need cititations for this. It’s basically a summary.

3 people.

*i will share the example of the Tipping Point in a private message*
Make a choice: create your own or improve an existing brand. Or organization. It cannot be a person.
AND IT CANT BE A BRAND EVERYONE ALREADY USES. YOU CANT DO A CAMPAIGN FOR A BRAND THAT IS ALREADY POPULAR AND ESTABLISHED
You can do this as a power point, a prezi, a poster or a google doc. Choose one. PROOFREAD. gear towards an audience of college students. You are trying to sell us on your idea as investors. SOme people do voice over presentation and record, others just have detailed power point with no audio/visual.
Know these categories: Maven, connector salesman. 3 people. Cant be the same. Maven is your youtube expert often, connector the popular influencer with the wide network, salesperson -the celebrity pitch person who can sell the product to the masses.
STAGE I-
In stage 1 you need to pin down three key things
Product, Idea, Service (What do you do, is it clothes, is it an app, what is it)
Justify why this product would be big (why would this idea have buzz)
Name of your agency (gotta brand yourself)
Put this in slide deck or prezi –look at the examples in the folder
Next
Choose a YouTube Maven (Someone who is popular for informing people, )
Maven’s are information hustlers; they love to share information
Think of YouTube unboxing personalities or people who inform/educate their fan base.
Nominate Social Media Connectors/Influencers (they have an influential network)
Explain why they are great for your idea
How would they Spread the word
Social Media Challenge/Game/Memes/GIf-How can you build buzz
Digital Media Convergence: How will your social media connector and/or salesperson promote on different platforms

As Jenkins points out in The Cultural Logic of Media Convergence, convergence is both top down and corporate driven and top up and consumer driven.

You’ll use a particular theory, topic, concepts, and/or questions you have gotten from this class so far to analyze/explain/critique your chosen media.

Media analysis involves using theoretical perspectives and methodologies to evaluate a cultural text to produce knowledge and in-depth understanding of the material. For this assignment, you’ll choose your media (I recommend movies or books). You’ll use a particular theory, topic, concepts, and/or questions you have gotten from this class so far to analyze/explain/critique your chosen media. I need an introduction for the paper, one paragraph of text summary, body (at least three main points with explanations), and conclusion for this essay. You should make at least three main points with adequate evidences from the text.
My philosophy with assignments like this is not to hear you give me what the theorist has already said, NO! Instead, I want you to be in charge: Use your knowledge from the reading to create new knowledge, new perspectives, or investigate new ideas while using your text(s) as evidence (to proof your points). Here are some stylistic instructions for you:
1. This essay must be written in APA format
2. 3-5 pages
3. Page limit does not include cover page and reference page.
4. Cite at least three essays without drawing direct quotes from them. Instead, paraphrase there ideas. See https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/general_format.html (Links to an external site.) for APA guide.

And it was too late; i signed a two-year lease.

please i need to fix this essay according to this instruction , the professor leave me this comments in the first publish..
take a look at my comments and let me know if you have any questions. You’re off to a good start, but go back and review the instructions specifically related to the development of each paragraph, and how to use lead ins (and follow ups) for the citations. Also, include some examples to provide richness and texture.
Assignment Instructions:
Your paper will focus on culture shock, a concept related to culture and interpersonal communication. You will read more about this concept and how to organize your paper by following the steps below:
1. Read through this entire assignment before you do anything else. Then:
2. Read Article #1, “The Four Phases of Culture Shock.” (The link is on Blackboard.)
3. Read Article #2 “My Personal Culture Shock.” (The link is on Blackboard.)
4. Review the section 1-4 c in Chapter 1, Competence in Intercultural Communication.
5. Think of a time when you experienced culture shock. Think about how the four stages of culture shock apply to your personal experience – a personal example.
6. From your personal example, select three of the four stages of culture shock that you’ll discuss in your paper.
a. You will use both Article #1 and #2 to support your personal example in your paper. You will see how and where to do this below.
7. publish and finalize a 5-paragraph paper, following the specific format shown below. NOTE:
a. Your paper will include an Introduction, three Body paragraphs, and a Conclusion.
b. All paragraphs need to follow the structure/format outlined below.
c. You must follow the specific guidelines for including citations from Articles #1 and #2 in each Body paragraph.
d. Work with the template(s) below to help you structure your paper. I’m using an outline format. You are not submitting an outline—you are submitting a paper.
e. A portion of an example paper follows, using the outline template, but just for 2 of the paper’s 5 paragraphs. And remember, you’re not enumerating your paper.
Structuring Your Paper:
I am providing you with a “template” for you to follow. This template has enumerators and descriptions to help you. Do not use these in your actual paper.
Format for your Introduction:
A. Provide a “Hook.” Grab your reader’s attention. This is your entry into your paper. Be inventive without being long winded.
B. Provide “Hooker Support,” a sentence or two to bring the Hook into focus for the reader.
C. Set up the Scene—establish minimal but important details of your situation.
D. Provide a clear, one sentence Road Map/Thesis of three out of the four phases of culture shock you’ll be discussing related to your personal example.
E. Format for your Body paragraphs. Each of these 3 Body paragraphs repeat the same structure:
Topic Sentence 1: A sentence explaining a how your experience relates to the first stage of culture shock you selected to discuss, as stated in your Road Map.
A. Now, provide a sentence supporting your Topic Sentence by citing Article #1 as “proof.”
Citation Notes:
— Use a lead-in to the citation such as, “According to the article insert name of article on the insert website name website (or by insert author name), the…”.
— It’s best to paraphrase the information, not quote.
— Mix up your lead-ins a bit, so they don’t all sound the same. You don’t always have to use “According to…”.
— When you refer to the same article again, you can simply say, “The insert website or author name also states that…”.
B. Describe more detail about your personal experience in one or two sentences.
C. Relate your experience to the author in Article #2 (using the same citation guidelines above.) How is your experience similar or different?
D. Provide a quick summary of the paragraph and transition into the next paragraph.
Topic Sentence 2: A sentence explaining a how your experience relates to the second stage of culture shock you selected to discuss, as stated in your Road Map.
A. Now, provide a sentence supporting this Topic Sentence by again citing Article #1 as “proof.” (Follow the Citation Notes above.)
B. Describe more detail about your personal experience in one or two sentences.
C. Relate your experience to the author in Article #2 (using the same citation guidelines above). How is your experience similar or different?
D. Provide a quick summary of the paragraph and transition into the next paragraph.
Topic Sentence 3: A sentence explaining a how your experience relates to the third stage of culture shock that you selected to discuss, as stated in your Road Map.
How is your experience similar or different to the author?
D. Provide a quick summary of the paragraph and transition into the next paragraph.
Format for your Conclusion
A. Signal Ending (I’m okay with, “To wrap up,” or “In summary,” or even, “In Conclusion.”)
B. Restate your Road Map
C. Clincher/Final Thought
Works Cited
This is provided to you! Just copy and paste it here.
Example: This example contains the first two of the five paragraphs only. Remember, you won’t be using any enumerators or descriptions. I am italicizing my example for clarity – do not italicize your paper and use black for your font color.
Format for your Introduction:
A. Provide a “Hook.” Grab your reader’s attention. This is your entry into your paper. Be inventive without being long winded.
At $350, it was a steal. No, it wasn’t an iPhone. It was the monthly rent for a beautiful two-bedroom apartment in my new home city.
B. Provide “Hooker Support,” a sentence or two to bring the Hook into focus for the reader.
In 2003, I made the move from San Francisco to Dallas, Texas to teach full-time. I was paying over $2000 a month for a tiny studio apartment in the breezy Bay Area. While I wasn’t excited leaving my friends along with beautiful and outdoorsy climate, I was very excited that my income would no longer be sabotaged by high rent. And I was equally excited about the new gig – my dream job.
C. Set up the Scene – establish minimal but important details of your situation.
But my rent-induced bliss quickly turned gloomy the moment my feet stepped out of the moving van and into my new adobe. Sweltering from the Texas heat, I took a big gulp from my Big Gulp and determined it was time to turn on the air conditioner. Except there wasn’t one. It never occurred to me that I would even need air-conditioning as it was unusual to have it in the Bay Area’s year-round cool climate. But in Dallas, a city known for its intense heat, air conditioning is a must-have. And it was too late; I signed a two-year lease.
D. Provide a clear, one sentence Road Map/Thesis of the three out of the four phases of culture shock you’ll be discussing related to your personal example:
My high expectations for my new home melted into a hot mess and I began experiencing all four stages of Culture Shock, three of which I’ll discuss in more detail which are the Frustration, Adjustment, and Acceptance stages.
Format for your Body paragraphs. This format will repeat for each of the 3 paragraphs:
Topic Sentence 1: A sentence explaining a how your experience relates to the first stage of Culture shock you selected to discuss, as stated in your Road Map.
Low rent in exchange for high heat is certainly no honeymoon and my oversight caused incredible angst and frustration as I settled into my new home city.
A. Provide a sentence supporting the Topic Sentence by citing Article #1.
In the article, “Culture Shock Part 1, The Four Stages” published on the Murdoch University’s website, the frustration stage of culture shock is when you realize your new cultural environment is causing anxiety.
B. Describe more detail about your personal experience.
I certainly didn’t want to live two entire years in an apartment that was as hot as a sauna. I began my protest quickly, calling my new landlord in hopes of an immediate release from the lease. “No, absolutely not,” he barked. “We don’t do that here.” I wasn’t used to this type of power play. In the Bay Area, landlords are very accommodating. They understand issues tenants face. For example, my previous landlord had no issue breaking my lease when I’d be moving out state.
C. Relate your experience to the author in Article #2 (using the same citation guidelines above.) How is your experience similar or different?
My experience is like the journey Daniele Pigni describes in her blog article, “My Personal Culture Shock.” Like Daniele, I also began resenting my new surroundings. I felt furious and trapped in a sweltering city, longing for San Francisco’s climate and my friends.
D. Provide a quick summary of the paragraph and transition into the next paragraph.
Therefore, the frustration stage of culture shock can make us angry and resentful of our new surroundings questioning our decision making and the intoxication of shiny new objects and places.
You will repeat the same format for Body paragraphs 2 and 3, and then end with your Conclusion. Scroll up if you haven’t read about the parts of the Conclusion.
Other Important notes:
• Avoid intentional or unintentional stereotyping when describing people’s cultures. Stereotyping is moves beyond generalizations, which you can read more about in Chapter 4, Perception. We can discuss and describe our experiences with other people and cultures without being disparaging, even when trying to pass something off as a joke. Ethnocentrism is the belief that one’s culture is superior to another. We don’t have to think too hard about the problems associated with ethnocentrism. Think of a time when you someone stereotyped you and/or your culture. You likely didn’t think it was too funny, even if the comment was “lighthearted.” Stereotyping others is our problem, not their problem. Always consider your audience when writing and speaking. In this case, I’m your audience and I’m asking you to avoid stereotyping and ethnocentrism. I simply don’t tolerate it and I stop reading (and grading) immediately. Let’s discuss this if you have any question. Don’t be afraid to ask.
• I am absolutely fine with an occasional use of an expletive (like the f-bomb) when used stylistically and for effect. Just don’t overdo it.
• Your paper should be double spaced and between 2 and 3 pages which includes the Works Cited at the end. Less can be more if you consider your language and structure carefully.
• Your paper should use a standard 12-point font. Don’t italicize or use a blue font – I do this only to make the example easier to separate from the numbers and descriptions.
• Your paper should follow the template guidelines provided to you. But remember, you are writing a paper. You do not include the enumerators or descriptions.
• Grammar, punctuation, spelling, and sentence to paragraph development – extremely important. publish your paper. Re-reading for sense, clarity, and grammar issues.
• Do not plagiarize.
• Visit the Writing Center! The Writing Center will not write or edit your paper, but someone will help you develop your ideas. Be sure to have a copy of this assignment with you. You can make an in-person or online appointment.
• You will be submitting your paper through the Turnitin link appearing in the assignment folder. Your paper must be a standard .docx file (do not use a .pdf file). Upload it from your hard drive, Google docs, etc.
• Be sure you are selecting the correct paper. Double check.
• Turnitin will email a digital receipt to you. Your paper was not submitted if you don’t receive this digital receipt. Try again, using the Firefox browser and the correct file format. (I won’t know if you received the digital receipt.)
• Do not email your paper to me. It must be uploaded through the assignment link. I will not open any paper emailed to me. Contact Tech Support if you’re having trouble.
• I no longer review publishs. My experience with publishs is never good. We see the word “publish” and we think, “Oh, I can just knock this out at the last minute and the professor will correct it for me. It’s just a publish.” Here’s the thing: this isn’t an English composition course. The reason you are required to take English composition is to learn the process so you can apply it to all subjects. You’ve likely learned that the writing process takes time! Give yourself this time. It’s up to you.
• Your paper will be graded using the COMM 11 Departmental Grading Rubric, found in the assignment folder.
