One organization that comes to mind is the Juvenile probation program. The planning, design, and implementation is very important, this will make sure that the program is running how it should be. Planning is Important especially when each child is a different case, this means the program must make it work for every individual. The design and implementation should be designed towards every child’s needs, it must fit into every situation. The areas of improvement that I believe could need to change would be just to add more programs that the kids could be involved with. Having kids involved into different activities or programs will make them do better for themselves and not commit crimes. It’s just like the kids out of the system, most of the kids who are involved in some type of activities don’t have time to commit crimes. Having different programs for every type of need would be perfect to rehabilitate the youth.

Because I work for a private organization, in human resources, I do not have an example specific with regard to the field.
I would say that with the onboarding of new officers and situations or reviews that may occur, training and handbooks are extremely important in setting the foundation for officers. I would think it is imperative that there is a focus team of key stakeholders to understand the current language and training requirements of the officers to ensure they have the proper tools to be successful. Usually, there are minimal revisions and/or modifications to handbooks, however with training, there may be additional steps that an agency may believe are critical such as how to deal with those with mental illnesses, how to approach confrontational situations, and what is not acceptable to do as police officers when they engage with a suspect, etc. Further continued education may be a part of that conversation, to allow for updates as policies change and/or retraining is necessary based on a lapse in an officer’s ability to execute as required. Usually, this type of review occurs as needed but at a minimum once a year.
